Bethard scores gaming license in Sweden

Expanding its presence in Europe, online casino operator, Bethard, has been granted a license in Sweden for betting and online casino games by the Scandinavian nation’s gaming authority.

According to the official press release…

The Swedish Gaming Authority, Lotteriinspektionen, has approved licensing for the San Ġiljan-headquartered sportsbook along with its associated white label clients. The license is effective for the maximum allowable period of five years, effective from January 1, 2019.

Key licenses:

The latest approval marks the third crucial license secured in its strategic markets this year having now received approvals in the United Kingdom, Denmark and Sweden.

Explaining the significance of the approval, founder and Chief Executive Officer for Bethard Group, Erik Skarp said…

Seeking additional licenses:

Based in Malta and Sweden, Bethard is currently licensed in the archipelago in the central Mediterranean, as well as Denmark, the United Kingdom and now Sweden. A license application is also reportedly being worked on for licenses in Ireland. The firm has additionally initiated a state license in Schleswig-Holstein in Germany, and in several other markets is actively seeking licenses.

Bethard expects that by 2020 it will have a licensed presence in the majority of key European markets, according to the news release.

SBTech deal:

Last month, Bethard signed a five-year extension of its sportsbook supply deal with British omni-channel online casino and sportsbetting solutions innovator, SBTech.
